Why is there
Something rather
than Nothing?

What is the
True Nature of
Existence?

A famous writer seeks the mother of all stories
to save his career and win the woman he loves

Writer Paul Genet’s dream was to discover the Final Story, the story from which all other stories derive. However, after years of frustration, he abandons the elusive search for the story to end all stories in order to gain immediate fame and fortune. Paul’s Faustian bargain leads to phenomenal but fleeting success. Now, to save his failing career, Paul renews his quest for the Final Story. But instead of discovering the mother of all stories, he has a bizarre delusional experience that brings his sanity into question. Confused and discouraged, Paul quits writing.

This brings him into conflict with everyone, especially with his new love, Maria Perez. To win her, Paul continues his search. Although he uncovers important clues, his attempts fail. When he wants to quit again, Maria will not hear of it.

However, Maria has a change of heart when Paul's next attempt uncovers a new clue that seems to reinforce his earlier delusional experience. She has fallen in love with him as she watched him struggle to please her. Concerned that she may have pushed him too far, she begs him to quit. Maria’s change of heart comes too late. Paul cannot quit this close to possibly achieving his lifelong goal.

His latest clue takes him to the West Bank where at last he discovers the Final Story. His elation is immediately dashed when he realizes he can use it to save his career only if he is willing to end time, destroy free will, and start the Last Judgment.

***** Five stars! Of all the novels you read this year, ‘Second Coming’ is the one you will remember.

If you are looking for fiction that is unique, original, and absolutely controversial, look no further than this novel about the end of time.

It's a love story, but don't worry, time does end and the living and the dead are judged. Jim Wills invented a universe which looks like the real world but is radically different beneath the surface.

And forget long-winded exposition. The novel moves quickly from Washington Square in New York City, to Washington, D.C., to San Francisco, to New Orleans, and finally, to its dramatic climax on the West Bank of the Jordan River.

Sure, the apocalypse (revelation) in ‘Second Coming’ is shocking, but it makes perfect sense within the context of the story. And that is what I liked most about this fiction: it delivers the goods on all levels.
