What's the
Big Idea?

What’s Going On?

What is Time?

Why is there
Something rather
than Nothing?

What is the
True Nature of
Existence?

Quote from the novel Second Coming

Maria, smiling: “What story hasn’t been told?”
Paul: “The story from which all other stories derive.”

Simply by changing his point of view, a famous writer learns how to see all things as One. Should he use this view to win the woman he loves and save his failing career if it will also end time, destroy free will, and start the Last Judgment?

Yes, this is a fictional story about the second coming of Jesus Christ. However, it is an original imaging using as its donnee or starting point a literal interpretation of words attributed to Jesus (“The person who does not gather with me scatters.” Matthew 12:30 and Luke 11:23) and referencing the non-local quantum universe of Bell’s Theorem. The author assigns no truth value to this fiction, yet it’s central idea (“All things One through balance”) is compelling and may prove disturbing to some readers. —Editor  read a summary | read the novel | explore the novel’s universe

Extra Special:  SECOND COMING,  a Screenplay by Jim Wills Based on His Novel

Coming to a multiplex near you? As the saying goes, “One never knows, do one?” While you wait—and, honestly, that could be like waiting for Godot—you can read the screenplay.

The screenplay is not simply the novel formatted as a script. In the novel, protagonist Paul Genet rejects an invitation which he accepts in the screenplay. This is not an alternative universe scenario nor a change to how the story plays out. Rather, it is a profound existential change to Paul’s identity and his relationship to the title, Second Coming. —Editor

The novel is based on the short story ‘Invitation Rejected’ by Jim Wills

Once a week, I go down to the monastery at Qumran to trade grain for pottery jars. I say go down because, although it is only twelve miles from Jerusalem to the shores of the Dead Sea, the road drops 4,000 feet.
My trip was routine. I completed my business with the quartermaster and started back to Jerusalem. I stopped for a moment to enjoy the stark beauty of the Dead Sea. The hills of Moab on the opposite shore seemed to dance as heat waves shimmered off the water.
Someone shouted my name. I turned. Running toward me was the assistant to the Guardian, spiritual leader of the monastery. continue reading the short story...

What Readers Are Saying

“This was one of the most incredible novels I've read in a long time. It was truly hard for me to believe that it was fiction. How can something so evident be fiction? I was so excited about the book, and especially having the opportunity to read it on-line. I've spoken to everyone I know who has a computer. This is a must read.” more reader comments…
